Order / Chaos

Calm down, you don‘t have to pretend everything is fine, you just serve the good. And I won‘t rest until you understand. It‘s why I‘m here, it‘s why I fear to fear again. We align the stars in such a solid line, but all of the light makes us sick. Come on, how is that an excuse? Still you repress why you once withstood. Oh, I detest how you refuse the truth, but I‘ll be here, when your fear to fear comes true. We attempt to keep control until the end, but all of our tries are in vain. How can I see through all these wooly thoughts that cloud your mind? How can I know what it feels like to balance on the edge? You got lost with all these wooly thoughts before your eyes, but you should know what it feels like to fall back.

Knowing

Through the eyes of a child I couldn‘t see, why he tried to keep it all from me. “Oh, my son”, he said, “one day you‘ll comprehend. When all comes clear in the end, you‘ll cast off your fear.” Wherever I go, I won‘t forget his braveness. I know, everything he wished was to save us. I grew up, but didn‘t stop to play back the scenes. Until I realized what I had failed to see. He had to lock me out, protect me from his pain. He carried all this weight, and tried not to fall. I never told him what it means to me now. I know, I won‘t forget, wherever I go.

Tides

I‘ve seen the skies fall, fire rain down to the earth. Demise of beast and man alike. In changing times, I try to prevail and thrive. I‘ll be constant like the tides. Only the darkest clouds shall make me surrender. A stranger to doubt, I‘ll live this life. Never enraged, ever collected. Without a word, I‘ll hold sway. Decisions are more trouble for me than they are worth, still I can‘t tell wrong from right. Messing up makes life seem frayed out at times, with its flaws one of a kind. It‘s like they say: you cannot regret what you‘ve not done.

It took place where I was home, veiled in haze. A twist I could not have presaged, then a problem too grave not to face. Out of my sight. It‘s like he chose a truth that was easy to cope, over those one should treasure the most. She woke up and was ready to go, but they pushed it all away, and got rid of all these days. Against all odds they stayed. Behind closed doors, they sat down like never before, remembered what they had once sworn, with feelings they couldn‘t ignore. And I‘m so proud of who they became.

Lost

Oh, how he speaks with subtle charm, his silver tongue leaves them disarmed. The kind who doesn‘t hesitate to grace his shiny self portrait, so it can reach the ones afar. It seems that what we seek isn‘t what we need. All our secrets blur our sight, so we can‘t see that on our throne, we tend to disown the deceit in everything that we‘ve become. Don‘t you know that time brings change, even to your might and fame. You won‘t last but fall apart. Because every palace you have built, the disguise that forms your shield, cannot protect and hide your scars. Up there alone, still lost in the crowd, we are men with shallow smiles and fragile souls. Our thoughts will echo with the hollow sound of words we used to believe.

Sleep

Sometimes, I want to let go of all responsibility. I know, I shouldn‘t be complaining at all, but yet that‘s how I feel. Tonight, we sleep tight, blinded by dreams we still believe will come to life. We fight, keep hope in sight. We fail to see that our routine is our demise. Sometimes, I want to let go of my ambition to succeed, to get rid of the exasperation that comes with everything I could not achieve. Do you have any dreams left, or are you at peace? A meaningless routine, without opportunity.
